BOO to Uniforms!

Well today was the last day that we could actually CHOOSE what we want to wear to work! :o( Starting tomorrow uniforms have to be worn hospital wide.....BOO! So in rebellion we went all out today by wearing our Christmas tops, Halloween jackets, mismatched pants and we threw in the bunny ears and shamrock glasses for kicks! :o) I mean seriously wouldn't you want us to be your nurse!! :o) Looks like its navy blue scrubs for me from here on out...BLAH! Hope everyone has a great week!

Life Partners! :o)

Baby Caleb James is almost here! Rachelle who is one of my bestest friends and now "life partner" is cooking her second baby which I get to be the God Mother of! I have been deemed the non-catholic God Mother, just because of all the rules of the Catholic church but it works for me! I was so excited to go with Rachelle to her last sonogram to check on CJ! I even looked at her belly button! That is a HUGE feat for me, I mean HUGE!! On top of that I almost touched it when I was rubbing her belly!

The sonogram was amazing! Just to hear his little heart beat and see his huge cheeks was the coolest thing ever! He definitely has the Fro-mama cheeks! CJ is sitting at a good 7.7 pounds and still has 6 weeks of cooking to do! I know, poor Rachelle! :o) But she is a tough chick and Super Mom so I know she can handle it!

Now about the whole "life partner" thing.... it started while we were waiting at the doctors office and I was rubbing her belly and talking to CJ so that I could pump him up for some good shots on the sonogram! As I sat there I started to think.... people probably think we are some kind of "life partners" or something and she is carrying our baby! We could not stop laughing! Dr. Doke even thought it was funny when we told him the story! He offered up romantic lighting and hand holding! :o)

Thanks Rach for letting me go with you to preview yours and TJ's bundle of joy! Your Aunt Jess can't wait to meet you Caleb James! Now I have to start working on his nickname.....

There's a baby in that belly! :o)

5 Years of Marital Bliss!

This month Brandon and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary! Time has flown by so fast! I thank God each and every day for him and the blessings he has given us in our marriage! We have already faced and conquered so many challenges that most married couples would never dream of tackling, and every time we come out on top! He is the ying to my yang; the peanut butter to my jelly sandwich; the cheese in my macaroni!

We had really already somewhat celebrated our anniversary when we went to San Antonio last month, and it just happened that the actual day of our anniversary landed on a Tech game day so you can only guess where we were....Red Raider country! Brandon took me out for a romantic lunch at Spanky's and then we watched the Red Raiders kick butt on the field! We were afraid that we not going to be able to go to the game due to all the rain that Lubbock had just received. We had heard that the field was covered in water, but thankfully they got it all pumped out just in time! Looking at the field you would have never known!

You would have never known that this was the above pic a day before!

Happy anniversary stinker butt! Can wait to see what the next 5 years bring us! (Maybe a baby Hawkins!......don't tell Brandon I said that!! :o) )

A night at the theatre....

One of mine and Brandon's favorite things to do is to go to the theatre! We actually have season tickets and never miss a production! If you live in Midland and have never been to the theatre, you really should check it out! We have some very talented people in our city! So get out there and get a little art in your life!!

Each year the Midland Reporter Telegram (my daddy-o's work) sponsors an evening at the theatre and hosts all their advertisers and friends and family! What is great about this is that we get to bring along all of our friends and family! This year the Hawkins / Maddox clan were able to bring along some great friends! There is just something fun about being able to get dressed up and have h'or dourves and drinks and socialize! We had a blast and the play was great! Thanks everyone for coming!!!

Fight Raiders Fight!

Life has been crazy, so I have not been able to blog! I know everyone is dying to know what has been going on with the Hawkins clan! :o) Well being that it is football season we have been to every Red Raider home game! The great thing is that each time we have been able to drive back home to Midland with victories!! Woo Hoo! Here are a few pics of the games! Brando has not been able to attend many games due to his busy schedule, but he is always there in spirit! One huge accomplishment this season...I got my sister (who is the pickiest eater ever) to eat a corn dog! I have the picture to prove it! To tell you the truth I think she REALLY liked it and she is now probably a closet corn dog eater! GO TECH!
